MB's severs now a days contain the record of all the genuine hardware IDs sold along with user's credentials and software activation key. Since Octoall non-genuine hardware is banned from accessing the servers for coding. Right off the bat, I want to inform you that none of the Xentry systems you can buy today will be able to connect to MB's servers for coding, unless you buy a genuine system. I will try though to bring some clarity and some information about Xentry systems to you. I do not know anything about DAD since I have not seen it or used that system, but I strongly doubt that it has SCN coding capability as a standalone system. It is important to understand that this forum lacks real and current information about some of these systems you talk about. This forum is a wealth of knowledge and I'm so lucky to have this community, it can be hard to sift through the info at times. Thanks for reading and any help you could provide. I'm looking for dealer or near dealer level access for any future needs.

Xentry 2014 code#
Between the DAD, Xentry C3 clone, and Xentry C4 clone, which scanner would grant me the deepest access and provide me with the most amount of features to help me take care of any code scanning, programing, and diagnostics? Relative to my T1N. TLDR I really did the best I could looking through all of the forums on the Scanner section. If a Xentry unit is recommended, could someone help point me to a suitable one to buy? There are.so many different versions.

The Xentry C4 clone is the newer version of the C3 and connects wirelessly to your laptop, rather than a serial port like the C3.Confusing information regarding what can be done offline VS online with an $$ expensive subscription to Mercedes. Some have newer software loaded, some have older software. Downside is I would be buying an overseas "clone", and its very confusing to sift through all of the different versions and variants. The Xentry C3 clone can do everything the DAD can do but with a better user interface, slightly faster.Most complete- can do pretty much everything except "activate" cruise control. Can re-code injectors, bleed ABS, access all electronic systems in a T1N including the diesel powered aux heater. It's a multiplex/laptop setup rather than an "all-in-one" type solution such as a tablet or handheld unit. Available units if found are not finicky clones from overseas. The DAD can be pretty slow to load, very powerful, no longer in production.I was curious if someone could definitively help me get to the bottom of some info I found conflicting accounts on. I've been able to sip through the firehose of excellent information regarding their differences, where they fall short and where they all shine in their respects.

I'd also really like to be able to give back to other sprinter owners in the area around me if anyone needs it. I'd like to buy one that will grant me the deepest level of access, I'm looking at this as a longterm investment. My specific goal here is to utilize some funds I just freed up, to buy a forever-scanner. An abundance of knowledge (at times a little tricky to all take in). I've spent the last week endlessly scanning through all of the extremely helpful discussions in the Scanners thread.
